Under the tittle "Face of Flanders: Marco Antonio Mazzini", Flanders Today has just published this week this wonderful article about my participation with the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, as well as some extra information about myself, my ensembles Thelema and Kinsa and the upcoming premier of Rafael Junchaya's "Concerto Silvestre" for bass clarinet and orchestra at the Bijloke concert hall in Gent.

El jueves 12 de marzo se publicó una amena entrevista que sostuve con la revista EVA de Lima, en donde "comento lo que pienso de las mujeres". Para aquellos que me conocen, el título de la entrevista no les llamará la atención: "Yo sería Lisa Simpson".

Marco Antonio Mazzini winner of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra

After what felt like very long waiting days, I finally got the answer from YouTube: I won the competition as a bass clarinetist for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra!

Together with 90 colleagues from over 30 countries, we will perform a concert next 15th April at Carnegie Hall, with Michael Tilson Thomas as conductor and with music by Tan Dun. This will be just a great experience. I will have the honor to represent Belgium (Ik woon in Gent!), and also my native Peru. More details about the competition can be found here in Yahoo!
